Pediatric Nephrology

Pediatric nephrology physicians diagnose and treat all disorders of the kidneys and urinary tract occurring in infants, children and adolescents. They have expertise in all aspects of acute renal failure and chronic renal failure. They treat hematuria and proteinuria; urinary tract infections; enuresis/voiding problems; kidney stones and hypertension.

All aspects of acute renal failure and chronic renal failure are treated, including:
- Nephrotic syndrome
- Glomerular disease
- Reflux nephropathy
- Acute and chronic pyelonephritis
- Obstructive uropathy
- Renal tubular diseases
- Renal cystic diseases (such as polycystic kidneys)
- Congenital renal diseases; metabolic diseases that affect the kidneys
Kidney transplants
The Pediatric Nephrology team also provides continuous care to kidney transplant patients in collaboration with Massachusetts General Hospital, where the transplants are performed.
