Salem Hospital has received the American Heart Association’s highest recognition for stroke care with a 2024 ‘Get With The Guidelines’ Gold Plus quality achievement award.
Salem Hospital has been named “High Performing” in the treatment of seven specialties, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2024-2025 Best Hospitals rankings released today. The seven specialties include chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), diabetes, heart attack, heart failure, kidney failure, lung cancer surgery, and pneumonia. This is the highest award a hospital can earn in the publisher’s Common Adult Procedure and Condition Ratings.

Salem Hospital was awarded an “A” grade for safety Monday by the Leapfrog Group, an independent, national not-for-profit watchdog organization.

On Nov. 5, Salem Hospital honored top medical staff members and volunteers for exceptional contributions and service at its 2021 Annual Excellence Awards. The annual event, held virtually this year, recognized Dr. Sheaumei Tsai with the Outstanding New Physician Award, Dr. Larissa Lucas and Dr. Patrick Gordon with the Physician of Excellence Award and longtime Salem Hospital Board of Trustees member Terry McGinnis with the E. Augustus Holyoke, M.D., Award.
