Our first-year curriculum emphasizes experiential teaching through various clinical settings, testing facilities, specialty services, and outpatient practices. It also offers electives to help the residents improve medical knowledge gaps before entering fellowships or independent practice. We have also made program enhancements by decreasing the number of weeks spent on inpatient services ICU/wards and offering new scheduled ambulatory rotations. The SIM-lab offers the ability to tailor a wide assortment of critical cases, which are created to mimic real-life scenarios that may be encountered on the wards or in the ICU.

  • We offer Intensive and Non-Intensive Outpatient services for people struggling with substance use disorders and related mental health issues. Those services run Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. Services take place at 55 Highland Hall on the Salem campus. As required by the federal government, we publish all information in a machine-readable file about the rates negotiated with insurance companies for all services and items offered by our hospital. No matter the location, if a procedure is performed during the visit, you may have further out-of-pocket costs for additional physicians’ services and for use of the hospital facilities and staff, even if the procedure was performed in the same exam room as the visit with the physician. If your physician ordered laboratory tests or imaging services such as X-ray, CT or MRI, you may be billed for these tests by the hospital, clinical laboratory, or imaging center, and you may also be billed for the services of the physicians usually pathologists and radiologists who interpreted the test results.
