This highly selective designation was awarded by the Surgical Review Corporation and AAGL, and is given to those hospitals and surgeons that meet rigorous quality and practice criteria. The program is designed to continuously improve care quality and patient safety in the field of gynecology.

Four surgeons are included in the Salem Hospital Center of Excellence designation and perform the full range of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS) procedures available: Christopher Coffey, MD, Rosa Lorenia Diaz, MD, John R. Gelinas, MD, and Melanie Nathan, MD.

“We are honored to receive this prestigious designation as it showcases the high level of care we provide to patients,” says Dr. Coffey, Medical Director of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at Salem Hospital.
