- The CHNA also gathered data via eight online focus groups with 50 clinical and community leaders from43 organizations in the following sectors: Community Health Centers, behavioral health mental health and substance use 4 The focus group data were analyzed for common and divergent themes about health concerns and SDoH. Community Assets and Resources: Focus group participants identified the diversity and resiliency of the community, aswell as the number of organizations serving the priority communities and collaboration among those organizations asimportant community assets and resources. Problems exist across the housing continuum, from emergency/temporary to longer-term/stabilization topermanent housing, including permanent supportive housing. Collaborative problem-solving between hospital and community partners as early as possible before hospitaldischarge will help to secure housing options that best support patient safety after discharge, particularly for patientswith mental and physical health issues for whom housing options are extremely limited.

Founded in 1950 by a group of Marblehead women — mostly wives of doctors at Salem Hospital — Merry Mixers is a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting and fundraising for the hospital. Since the group's inception, Merry Mixers have raised and donated more than $2 million, with $75,000 coming in last year. Many local business owners donate gift cards in addition to attending events, which Sarah and Chelsea say is a major part of the group's success. We're so lucky the hospital is right in our backyard, and we want to support it and improve it any way we can.

- Beyond their volunteer service, the Axelrods are longtime financial supporters of the hospital. In 1986, they established the Leonard and Henrietta Axelrod Fund, which has supported a range of initiatives, including the Leonard and Penny Axelrod Cardiac Center at Mass General/North Shore Center for Outpatient Care. There was a long list of groups they supported, but the hospital was closest to their hearts.
