Lastly, exercise, especially weight-bearing types helps retain or increase bone density and improves overall strength, decreasing the risk of falling and bone fractures associated with osteoporosis. Organizations that establish collaborative governance councils are often associated with improved patient outcomes. She has served as President of the Point Neighborhood Association for more than 20 years and been a proactive advocate for safe and affordable housing, voter registration, civil rights, public education and issues relating to health care and the environment. When not volunteering, Corchado is a staff assistant at Salem State University where she has worked for more than 25 years and continues to reside in the Point with her family. For nearly 15 years, Elias T. Demakes has been the Vice President of Sales for Demakes Enterprises, Inc., a 110-year-old family run, premium meat and deli product manufacturer.
