Salem Hospital, a member of Mass General Brigham, has maintained a collaboration in cardiac care with Massachusetts General Hospital's world-class surgical team. Through this relationship, cardiac surgery is now performed at Mass General, while all other aspects of a patient’s heart care are provided here. Our teams work closely together to provide effective and seamless care.

Corrigan Minehan Heart Center

Patients come from all over the world to Mass General’s Corrigan Minehan Heart Center, renowned for its vast expertise and groundbreaking research in cardiac surgery. The Cardiac Surgery Service includes minimally invasive surgery, heart and lung transplantations, and mechanical circulatory support. Common and complex cardiac conditions they treat include:

Adult congenital heart disease
Aortic aneurysms
Heart failure
Heart rhythm conditions
Heart valve conditions

Our cardiologists remain in direct contact with each patient’s surgeon at the Corrigan Minehan Heart Center as they develop a personalized treatment plan. Once surgery is completed and the patient has recovered, follow-up care is provided through our comprehensive Heart Center, where cardiologists and staff provide a broad range of expert cardiac services, and where patients can remain close to home and family.
