Our first-year curriculum emphasizes experiential teaching through various clinical settings, testing facilities, specialty services, and outpatient practices. We have also made program enhancements by decreasing the number of weeks spent on inpatient services ICU/wards and offering new scheduled ambulatory rotations. Previous projects have successfully decreased the use of unnecessary telemetry monitoring, improved central line access, and facilitated difficult end-of-life discussions. Residents also have access to the MGB Grand Rounds series on internal medicine and subspecialties, tailored to their specific clinical interests.
