The new healthcare center will enable the North Shore Physicians Group Lynn practice to expand and provide greater access to local patients. Mr. Solimine’s proposal was guided by a 2018 city-led planning process addressing the reuse of Union that included local residents, Lynn city officials, social service agencies, community groups, health advocates and NSMC.

The North Shore Cancer Walk raises a record-breaking $1 million to support cancer treatment on the North Shore. The group of individually-named, NSMC-owned primary and specialty care practices are renamed as North Shore Physicians Group at all locations, reflecting the growing integration of the practices and their connection to NSMC.

  • The Race, which kicks off on the Esplanade in Boston’s Back Bay, focuses on supporting all of Mass General’s cancer centers including the Mass General/North Shore Cancer Center in Danvers, and will continue to support world class care in this community. The North Shore Cancer WALK has been held in Salem for more than 30 years, raising funds to support cancer programs and services at Salem Hospital, the former North Shore Cancer Center NSCC, and more recently, the Mass General/North Shore Cancer Center in Danvers. Teams and walkers have come out each June to support the cause as well as cancer survivors and loved ones they have lost. While we are sad to see the North Shore Cancer WALK move out of Salem, we are excited about this opportunity to reach even more supporters of exceptional care,” says Andrews.   • North Shore Medical Center NSMC today announced that longtime Marblehead resident Arthur J. Epstein has committed a gift of $5 million to NSMC in support of the Medical Center’s plan to build a new behavioral health center at its Salem campus. NSMC will name the new center, scheduled to open in the fall of 2019, in Epstein’s honor. “North Shore Medical Center is deeply grateful for Arthur Epstein’s extraordinary support,” said NSMC president David Roberts, M.D. “There is increasing demand for behavioral health services across the country and throughout local communities here on the North Shore. Many families face mental health or addiction issues and they often struggle to find high-quality care,” Epstein said. “I’m proud to support North Shore Medical Center’s efforts to address this dire need in our health care system, and I’m grateful that North Shore families will have a place to go where they are assured their loved ones will receive excellent care.” He made his first major gift to the Medical Center in 2002, followed in 2007 by a $1 million donation in support of the Mass General/North Shore Center for Outpatient Care in Danvers. Epstein is a supporter of many nonprofit organizations, including Boston Children’s Hospital, The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, Massachusetts General Hospital, Combined Jewish Philanthropies and Congregation Shirat Hayam in Swampscott.

Dr. Lucas is recognized for her exceptional leadership and advocacy in support of one of the North Shore's most fragile populations during the COVID-19 crisis. Currently, he chairs the Salem Hospital Community Affairs and Health Access Committee and the North Shore Physicians Group Board of Trustees. Serving the North Shore community for more than 100 years, Salem Hospital provides innovative medical, surgical and psychiatric care through an array of inpatient, outpatient and virtual settings including Salem Hospital, the Epstein Center for Behavioral Health, North Shore Physicians Group and a medical staff of nearly 700 physicians practicing in a wide range of specialties.

Then the doctor or nutritionist educates the group about a specific subject and the patients share tips or challenges. I liked the people in the group appointment,” says Barlow. “They were all there for the right reasons, because they wanted to learn and benefit from all the information being provided by Dr. Parseghian. With better-focused education from his healthcare team and the added support of other patients, Barlow now feels like he is taking more control of his health. The shared medical appointments are a great way to augment my individual appointments with Dr. Parseghian,” says Barlow. “They give me an added level of support and education that really helps keep me on track.”

Dr. Mulroy typically sees patients at the North Shore Physicians Group practice in Beverly, MA, which is affiliated with Salem Hospital and Mass General Brigham. This was the fifth year he has traveled with a group of physicians, physician assistants, medical students and other clinicians through FNE International, a nonprofit that partners with communities in developing nations to advance housing, health and education. His fiancé, Patrick Calder, and North Shore Physicians Group NSPG colleague, Katherine Moskal, an athletic trainer, joined him. The Program Evaluation Committee, consisting of resident class representatives, faculty representatives, and program administration, is the main driver for our success and receives continued support from the leadership team. Since our categorical residents come from a diverse pool of medical schools from around the world, we have developed processes to help with the transition, including at-elbow shadowing sessions with current residents and nurses, and personalized faculty support sessions.
