The Birthplace offers several resources for breastfeeding families at every stage.

Breastfeeding Classes

We offer in-person breastfeeding classes for expectant parents. Visit the childbirth education page, or email us at SHchildbirthED@mgb.org.

 

Postpartum Support

New Beginnings: weekly community drop-in hours for parents and newborns

Led by an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), parents and newborns can find support and build community.

Join us: free, and no registration required. Community drop in hours are Fridays from 10am - 12 pm at Salem Hospital, Davenport 102B. Parking is available at 81 Highland Avenue by the main entrance.

Lactation consultation

Our International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs) provide on-site consultation during your stay at the Birthplace. They create individualized breastfeeding plans and assist with latch, establishing milk supply, and/or newborn/parental medical conditions. For questions, call us at 888.217.MILK (6455).
