Meet our urology physicians

The urologic surgeons at Salem Hospital provide expert and individualized care for adult urologic conditions. Our team includes specialists in minimally invasive surgical techniques, including robotic, endoscopic, extracorporeal and percutaneous approaches, as well as specialists in voiding dysfunction and pelvic floor disorders.

We are the only hospital on the North Shore to offer a minimally invasive robotic surgery for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia, a common type of prostate enlargement.

We also partner with the Mass General Cancer Center to provide comprehensive care to patients diagnosed with urologic cancer. Many of our urology physicians work side-by side with Massachusetts General Hospital physicians in a collaborative urology practice at the Mass General Brigham Healthcare Center in Danvers, MA.

About robotic urologic surgery

During robotic surgery, a trained surgeon operates robotic arms from a console that provides intricate 3D images of the surgical site. The robot is a remote extension of the surgeon’s own hands with instrumentation that enables finer access, maneuverability and technical precision. Advantages of robotic surgery include smaller incisions, reduced pain and discomfort and a faster recovery. Learn more
