  • Immediate reconstructive plastic surgery is possible in nearly all patients." A number of new technologies make it possible for more patients to receive aggressive treatment while sparing more of their breast tissue. Our surgeons work collaboratively with medical and radiation oncologists of the Mass General Brigham Cancer Institute in Danvers to plan out the best course of treatment for each patient. Part of the evaluation of patients with invasive breast cancer is the testing of lymph nodes in the areas surrounding the breast to see if cancer has spread there. Our breast surgeons work closely with our medical oncologists to assess and manage the treatment of high risk patients.
