All patients sign a confidentiality agreement not to share information about other patients. A medical assistant takes the blood pressure readings of all patients and then Dr. Parseghian reviews each patient’s case, asking and answering questions. Then the doctor or nutritionist educates the group about a specific subject and the patients share tips or challenges. - The attending physician, with input from the team of caregivers, will determine when a patient is ready to leave the hospital. Sometimes a patient will need continued assistance at home or time at a rehabilitation facility. Case managers meet with patients on the day after admission to discuss anticipated follow-up care. Working with the patient and the health care team, the case manager develops a plan for transition to home or another level of care. The day before discharge, patients meet with their case managers and family members to establish a discharge time and plan.

- Patients breathe 100% pure oxygen while inside the hyperbaric chamber. Successful healing requires close coordination between the clinic and a patient’s primary care physician. Not all patients are a good candidates for HBOT. In order to make use of the hyperbaric chambers, a patient has to be able to tolerate roughly three times normal atmospheric pressure. - Most patients who have a minimally invasive gynecology procedure can go home from the recovery room several hours after the completion of the hysterectomy. Patients typically require several days of oral narcotics in addition to medications such as ibuprofen. Patients usually remain in the hospital for two days or more and require 4-6 weeks of recovery before returning to work and normal activities. Once blood pressure, pulse, and breathing are stable and the patient is alert, she will be discharged home or taken to her hospital room.

- The gynecologic surgeons at Minimally Invasive Gynecology Surgery program employ a variety of endometrial ablation techniques, depending on each individual patient's specific needs. All of these procedures are performed while the patient is anesthetized to ensure that she remains comfortable throughout. If anesthesia was received in the operating room, the patient will be taken to the recovery room for observation. Once blood pressure, pulse and breathing are stable and the patient is alert, she is discharged home. If an ablation was performed in the office, the patient can go home about 30 minutes after the procedure is complete.

- All patients who are considering bariatric surgery receive a multidisciplinary consultation at the start of the process. The consultation is a thorough medical and psychological assessment, which may result in the patient deciding to enroll in our non-surgical or surgical management programs. All decisions about patient care are made collaboratively with the patient, the Weight Management team and the referring physician. This consultation takes place only after a patient has attended one of our information sessions Patient are sometimes referred for additional medical testing, such as a stress test or a sleep study.

- I knew very early on that I wanted to take care of patients. I never thought I would do anything besides taking care of patients, but as is often the case in healthcare, somewhere along the way an opportunity comes up in management and leadership. I think that in healthcare leadership, the more you can do to stay close to that patient interface, the more gratifying the leadership role is. We have incredibly dedicated people across all job roles - our physicians, nurses and staff are so devoted to our patients and community. We're continuing to develop programs and expand the way we can serve patients, with those two purposes working in harmony with one another.
