Food and Nutrition
Wholesome, nourishing and well-balanced meals are an important part of a patient's treatment and recovery. Every effort is made to provide nutritious meals prepared according to doctor’s orders. Patients with special dietary needs are asked to consult with the dietitian so that we may meet those needs. Patients are also asked to please follow the nurse or dietitian’s instructions carefully. Food or drink that is different from what is served in the hospital room may require physician approval.
Restaurant-style food service
Restaurant-style food service is offered. Patients order meals through a catering associate, who personally assembles the tray in the kitchen and delivers the food to the patient’s room. An associate checks back after the meal to ask if the meal was satisfactory.
- Breakfast 7:30 -- 9 a.m.
- Lunch 11 -- 1 p.m.
- Dinner 4:30 -- 6:30 p.m.
A meal may be delayed if a patient is scheduled for a test or treatment. Whenever possible, however, the meal will be served after the examination or test. Beverages and light snacks (if allowed by the physician and any special dietary considerations) are available. Patients with questions about meals or diet may speak with the nurse.
