Patient Cost Estimator
Salem Hospital, a member of Mass General Brigham, is committed to price transparency. There are three different ways you can request cost estimate information.
Request a cost estimate
Patients can request a cost estimate for health care services at Mass General Brigham. Contact the Patient Financial Experience at 617-726-3884 option 2.
You also can generate a self-service estimate for select upcoming or potential services in real-time by using Patient Gateway and navigating to the Billing menu.
If you do not have a Patient Gateway account, you can use our online price estimator tool of your out-of-pocket costs for "shoppable" items*, such as surgeries, procedures, labs, etc.
Please be prepared to answer the following information:
- Name
- Date of Birth
- Medical Record Number (if applicable)
- Phone number
- Procedure information, such as CPT or DRG code
- Date of procedure (if scheduled)
- Expected location of procedure
- Insurance information and member ID Physician’s name
- Physician’s phone number
- Recipient's address
You will then receive an estimate from Patient Access/Financial Counseling. Please do not contact Patient Billing Solutions with this sensitive information via e-mail.
*The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Price Transparency rule requires that hospitals provide cost information on 300 "shoppable" items per hospital. We provide access to this information through a cost estimator tool.
